Travel    

 

The airports of Milano (Malpensa or Linate), Verona (Villafranca), or Bergamo (Orio al Serio) are all served by a number of international connections. Verona and Bergamo are the closest.

 
 
 

By plane | train | bus    

 
 

To reach Gargnano from Milano Malpensa you have to:

-     Take the Malpensa Shuttle to Milano Stazione Centrale (Central Railway Station) which departs from Terminal 1 – Exit 6 every 20 minutes starting from 5:30 am up to 00:15 am. The trip last about 50’ and the ticket costs Euro 5,00. Tickets can be bought on the bus or at Airport 2000 (arrival floor).

-     From Milano Centrale take a train to Brescia or to Desenzano (www.trenitalia.it/en/index.html). Trains to Brescia leaves every 30 minutes and the journey last from 50’ to 1 h 05’. Trains to Desenzano leaves every hour and the trip lasts around 1 h. A standard ticket in both cases costs around 15,00 Euro.

-     Buses to Gargnano from Brescia, leaves at the Bus Terminal SIA on the left of the railway station exit (www.trasportibrescia.it). The Bus line that takes you to Gargnano is the LN010 one (see attached timetable – for those arriving on Sunday, please have a look at page 3 of the timetable). The journey takes 1 h 25’.

-     Buses to Gargnano from Desenzano (Line LN027) leaves the Railway Station at 5.50, 6.00, 6.45, 8.10, 8.25, 9.45, 11.00, 11.35, 13.30, 15.30, 16.20, 18.30. The journey takes 1h (see attached timetable LN027).

To reach Gargnano from Milano Linate you have to:

-     Take the Bus (Starfly) to Milano Stazione Centrale (Central Railway Station) which leaves from the Arrival floor every 30 minutes starting from 6:05 am up to 23.45 pm. The ticket costs Euro 3,00 and they can be bought on the bus or at “Agenzia Autostradale Linate”.

-     From Milano Centrale take a train to Brescia or to Desenzano (www.trenitalia.it/en/index.html). Trains to Brescia leaves every 30 minutes and the journey last from 50’ to 1 h 05’. Trains to Desenzano leaves every hour and the trip lasts around 1 h. A standard ticket in both cases costs around 15,00 Euro.

-     Take the Bus to Verona Porta Nuova Railway Station (the ticket costs 4,50 Euro and it takes 15’)

-     From Verona you can take a train to Desenzano or to Brescia (www.trenitalia.it/en/index.html). Trains to both towns leaves frequently. The jourey to Desenzano takes 25’ while the journey to Brescia lasts from 30’ to 50’. The ticket for Desenzano costs around 3,00 Euro. The one for Brescia around 5 Euro.

-     Buses to Gargnano from Desenzano (Line LN027) leave the Railway Station at 5.50, 6.00, 6.45, 8.10, 8.25, 9.45, 11.00, 11.35, 13.30, 15.30, 16.20, 18.30. The journey takes 1h.

-     Buses to Gargnano from Brescia, leave at the Bus Terminal SIA on the left of the railway station exit (www.trasportibrescia.it). To reach Gargnano from Bergamo Orio al Serio you have to:

-     Take the ATB Shuttle to Bergamo Railway Station (it takes about 10/15 min)

-     From Bergamo take a train to Brescia (www.trenitalia.it/en/index.html). Trains leave nearly every 30 minutes and the journey last from 50’ to 1 h 00’. A standard ticket costs around 5,00 Euro.

-     Once you are in Brescia, get out the station, turn left and find the Bus Terminal SIA (www.trasportibrescia.it). The Bus line that takes you to Gargnano is the LN010 one (see attached timetable – for those arriving on Sunday, please have a look at page 2 of the timetable). The journey takes 1 h 25’.

Coming from Northwest (France, Switzerland through Frejus, Monte Bianco, Gran San Bernardo): Once you are in Italy, you have to reach the highway A4 "Torino-Venezia" and drive towards Milano. When you reach Milano, do not leave the highway and follow the directions for "Venezia". After about one hour drive, take the exit (fee payment required) called "Brescia Est". You now have to follow the directions for "Salo'" and take road "SS45 BIS Gardesana Occidentale". Once there follow the directions for Gargnano. The trip from the highway exit to Gargnano is about 45 mins. Please consider that there are usually heavy traffic conditions on the highway "Torino-Venezia" (especially near Milano) and that there are several road work areas between Torino and Milano.

Coming from East
: Reach the highway A4 "Venezia-Torino" and drive towards Milano. Take the exit (fee payment required) called "Desenzando del Garda" and follow the directions for "Salo" (road SS572) and then for Gargnano (road SS45 BIS "Gardesana Occidentale").

Coming from North (Brennero): Drive south on highway A22 "Autostrada del Brennero" and exit (fee payment required) at "Rovereto Sud-Lago di Garda Nord". Follow the directions for "Riva del Garda" and then for Gargnano driving south on SS45 BIS.
