Chimica Analitica

The researchers in Analytical Chemistry at the Department use their knowledge of chemistry, instrumentation, and data analysis statistics to cover fundamental and applied topics in almost all areas of chemistry, industrial chemistry and material science. They develop and apply analytical methods and instrumentation aimed at facing world-relevant environmental challenges as in example by investigating the distribution of anthropic derived pollutants and microplastics in ecosystems. Relevant research fields are the development of innovative analytical methods for: medical monitoring by biosensors or by analysing non-conventional biological fluids, industrial monitoring, studyinglignocellulosic biomass and its reactivity under pyrolysis conditions, and supporting the knowledge and the preservation of Cultural Heritage.
