The symposium welcomed more than 300 participants from 54 countries across five continents, providing a unique opportunity for researchers, professionals, and industry representatives to exchange ideas and discuss the latest developments in analytical and applied pyrolysis. The scientific program featured more than 150 oral presentations and over 150 poster contributions, highlighting the vitality and diversity of research in the field.
Organized by the Department of Chemistry and Industrial Chemistry of the University of Pisa, the conference was held under the patronage of the CISUP – the Center for the Integration of Scientific Instrumentation of the University of Pisa and the Department of Chemistry “Giacomo Ciamician” of the University of Bologna. The event was also supported by industrial sponsors Frontier Laboratories, SRA Instruments, JEOL Italia, FKV, CDS Analytical and GAZ Analytique, alongside the Journal of Analytical and Applied Pyrolysis.
The strong international participation and the high scientific quality of the contributions made PYRO 2026 an outstanding platform for knowledge exchange, fostering collaboration among universities, research institutions and industry while further enhancing the international visibility of Pisa and the University of Pisa.
