Separation Science: the latest developments and applications in Multidimensional Chromatography.
Lunedì 27 ottobre 2025 - Ore 11:30 - Aula 35
Dott. Siebe Lievens - University of Liège, Belgium
Seminario
We currently live in a rapidly evolving and chemically complex world. As our scientific capabilities keep growing, more chemical synthesis, material engineering, biological studies, and environment monitoring are taking place. However, these growing capabilities are often requiring the need for accurate measurement and comprehensive chemical/biological characterization. This is why analytical chemistry, and in particular Separation Sciences have considerably grown over the last decades. This seminar will provide insights in instrumental analysis and more particularly from no separation (e.g. DART-MS) over single dimension chromatography to multidimensional chromatography, and the latest developments and main applications within the Academic Center of Excellence in Separation Science and Sensing (University of Liège, Belgium).
Dr. ing. Siebe Lievens holds an Engineering degree in Biochemistry and obtained in 2023 a PhD in Engineering Technology (KU Leuven, Belgium) and a PhD in Pharmaceutical Sciences (University of Antwerp, Belgium). . Since 2025, he holds a position as research manager at the Academic Center of Excellence in Separation Science and Sensing of the University of Liège (Belgium).
